David Gonski is one of Australia’s most eminent business leader, was previously chair of the ANZ Banking Group, one of Oceania’s biggest banks and Australia’s A$290 billion Future Fund. He is currently Non-executive Chair of Barrenjoey Capital Partners Group, Sydney Airport Corporation Ltd and Levande Pty Ltd.
Mr Gonski is the Chancellor of the University of New South Wales and a Director of the Lowy Institute for International Policy. He was previously chair of the Review to Achieve Educational Excellence in Australian Schools for the Australian Government, member of the Takeovers Panel and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) external advisory panel. He has served as director of Singapore Airlines, Westfield Group and Singapore Telecommunications and has chaired Coca-Cola Amatil, the Australian Securities Exchange, the Sydney Theatre Company, the Art Gallery of NSW Trust, the Australia Council for the Arts, the board of trustees of Sydney Grammar School and Investec Bank (Australia).
Mr Gonski was appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia in 2007 and received the Centenary Medal in 2003.
Mr Gonski holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of New South Wales.
