Alessio de Gouveia

Investment Officer

Alessio de Gouveia is an Investment Officer at LeapFrog Investments and a member of the African Financial Services team.

At LeapFrog, Alessio focuses on identifying, executing, and managing investments across digital financial services, insurance, and banking in Africa. He has played an integral role in LeapFrog’s investment in Moniepoint, one of Africa’s leading fintech platforms, as well as the ongoing management of portfolio companies Sun King and miLife Insurance. Alessio is actively involved in portfolio value creation, supporting strategic growth initiatives, capital structuring, and operational excellence.

Prior to joining LeapFrog, Alessio worked in investment banking at Goldman Sachs, where he advised on mergers and acquisitions across sub-Saharan Africa. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Science in Finance and Accounting from the University of Cape Town and is a qualified Chartered Accountant (South Africa)
