Fernanda Lima
Partner
Fernanda Lima is a Partner at LeapFrog Investments and Co-Head of the firm’s Asia Financial Services strategy. She has been part of LeapFrog’s leadership team since 2018 and serves on the firm’s Investment Committees. In this role, she has led a number of landmark investments across a portfolio spanning inclusive lending, insurance, payments, and digital financial services.
With over 20 years of private equity and principal investing experience across growth markets, Fernanda brings expertise in active ownership. She has held multiple board and committee roles across regulated financial institutions, working closely with founders, boards and senior management teams to drive strategy, strengthen governance, deliver operational transformation and position businesses for strategic exits or listings.
Her career began in São Paulo, Brazil, at a leading financial conglomerate, before moving to Europe and joining AIG Global Investment Group in London in 2002. She later transitioned into emerging markets investing, building a long-standing track record across Asia. Prior to joining LeapFrog, Fernanda was a Managing Director at Developing World Markets, a pioneering US-based impact asset manager, where she invested and managed private equity portfolios of two funds. Across her career, Fernanda has led investments and held board positions in companies operating in Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Vietnam, supporting management teams through periods of rapid growth, institutionalisation and market expansion.
She holds a Master of Science in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics and an MBA from the University of London (Imperial College). Fernanda is a British Chevening Scholar and is fluent in three languages. A global citizen who has lived and worked across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, Fernanda relocated to Singapore in 2013, where she lives with her husband and three sons. In addition to her professional role, she undertakes pro bono advisory work with Save the Children Global Ventures, supporting the development of market-based solutions to improve outcomes for vulnerable communities.
