Timon Chiong

Senior Legal Counsel

Timon is Senior Legal Counsel for LeapFrog Investments, working with the legal team to support LeapFrog globally. Based in Singapore, Timon focuses primarily on transactions across the range of jurisdictions within LeapFrog’s mandate, including investments, exits and portfolio management.

Timon has more than a decade of legal experience in private practice and in-house as international transaction counsel, with proven expertise across a diverse range of transactions including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, venture capital and growth equity. Prior to joining LeapFrog, Timon was Senior Corporate Legal Counsel at Abdul Latif Jameel, an Arab family-owned global business, where he was lead transaction counsel for corporate oversight and execution expertise for M&A and investment activities across the organisation’s diversified businesses. Timon previously spent seven years with Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow, the Singapore member firm of leading global law firm Baker McKenzie, where his practice focused on M&A, private equity investments and corporate reorganisations. Timon also completed a secondment to the Melbourne office of Baker McKenzie (an Australian partnership).

Timon holds a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours from the National University of Singapore, where he was also awarded multiple Dean’s List awards, and a Certificate of Transnational Legal Studies from the Center for Transnational Legal Studies London. Timon is also a certified International Mergers & Acquisitions Expert designated by the Institute for Mergers, Acquisitions & Alliances.

Timon is admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore.
