Dr. Vikram Popli is a Director with LeapFrog’s Asia team. He is an orthopedic surgeon with more than a decade of experience in healthcare private equity investment.

After completing his MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College, Vikram completed his MS in orthopedics from Safdarjang Hospital. He has also obtained an MBA in Finance from ISB Hyderabad. He comes to LeapFrog not only with deep medical experience, but with 10 years of experience in private equity through OrbiMed, a healthcare focused fund, where he was a Director.

Vikram has experience of investing in various sub-sectors in healthcare and lifesciences including hospitals, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics and distribution. He was involved in multiple investments at OrbiMed, including KIMS Hospital, a leading chain of hospitals in Kerala and GCC, Surya Children’s Medicare, the largest private neonatal and pediatric hospital in Mumbai, and Advanced Enzymes, the largest enzyme company in India and in the Top 15 businesses in its industry globally. He has successfully exited investments generating good returns for the investors. His experience in these investments spans all stages of the transaction from deal identification, diligence, negotiation, investment, post investment monitoring,  performance improvement, impact assessment and exit.
