  • Private equity and impact investing leader appointed as lead partner for fundraising, co-investment and capital mobilisation
  • LeapFrog has exceeded $3 billion of commitments and plans to grow rapidly across social and climate impact strategies

London, UK: LeapFrog Investments, the profit with purpose investment firm, has appointed Virginia Doble as a new partner to lead the firm’s Investor Solutions team worldwide as the multi-fund firm and industry scale rapidly.

Virginia brings nearly two decades of private equity investor relations experience to the role, having been instrumental in successful capital raises totalling approximately $7.5 billion. She has built long-term and trusted relationships with many of the largest and leading institutional investors in the world. She also has deep experience in impact investing across LeapFrog’s global growth markets.

The appointment follows sustained growth for LeapFrog. Total capital raised by LeapFrog now exceeds $3 billion across seven institutional funds and separately managed accounts. Today, LeapFrog’s portfolio companies reach 622 million people across Asia and Africa and generate over $9 billion in annual revenue and $1.5 billion in profit.

Most recently, Virginia led Investor Relations and capital raising across the multi-billion dollar Helios platform, focused on African private equity. Previously, she was Managing Director and Head of EMEA Distribution at Actis, covering alternative strategies across Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Virginia joins LeapFrog’s partnership and Executive Committee. She will continue to broaden and deepen relationships with institutional investors and development finance institutions, addressing their specific allocation priorities, strategy preferences and policy needs.

LeapFrog’s latest flagship fund, Fund IV, raised $1 billion in commitments and co-investments for its wealth and health strategy. Strong support from existing investors was complemented by an expanded investor base in eight new countries, with significant step-ups in allocations from Asian markets including Japan and Singapore. Today’s wide and deep investor base provide the foothold for LeapFrog to further promote authentic impact investing and growth markets investing globally.

LeapFrog is deploying capital at pace, with recent investments including African fintech unicorn Moniepoint, Vietnamese pharmacy chain Pharmacity and Filipino regional hospital chain Global Care Medical Centre. By 2030, LeapFrog aims via its portfolio companies to reach 1 billion emerging consumers.

Virginia Doble, Partner and Head of Investor Solutions at LeapFrog said: “LeapFrog’s reputation in the market is magnetic and distinctive, built on a team whose calibre I have long admired. I was drawn to the firm by its mission, methodologies and evidence of genuinely delivering profit and purpose.”

Dr Andy Kuper, CEO and Founder of LeapFrog said: “Virginia is held in the highest esteem across our global industry – trusted by Limited Partners, General Partners, service providers and major associations. She is the right person to drive capital and network growth in the exciting years ahead. Her experience and judgement will be valuable to our partnership and across our investments.”
